Festival of Quilts

Every other year since 2001, the Union County Quilt Guilds have sponsored a quilting event. The Festival of Quilts will be held at the El Dorado Conference Center in historic downtown El Dorado, Arkansas. The 2017 Festivals of Quilts will be held April 7th & 8th. Admission is $5. This year the "Last Supper" quilt will be presented and it includes 56,000 different materials.

The guilds will choose a "Featured Quilter” whose work will anchor the show. The quilter must be a seasoned quilter who has earned multiple awards and will serve as an attendance draw to the show. Local quilters teach classes during the two-day event. Friday will include an educational component in which local elementary schools will be invited to tour the show and have some hands on sewing experience at no charge. It is estimated that 300+ quilts will be shown. A show book will be available to those attending the show and a tickets will be available to purchase for a chance to win the "Pinwheel Flower Basket” quilt donated by the Union County Night Owls Quilt Guild.
