Responsible for care and safety of patients of all ages who come under his/her care. Responsible for assisting physicians during procedures by having all instrument, equipment, and supplies needed for surgical procedures. The primary focus of this position is that of scrubbing on procedures and passing instruments to the surgeon. The scrub technician may act as second assistant when required to do so. The scrub technician participates in precepting of other scrub technicians and scrub nurses.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED:

High school diploma / GED

Successful completion of validated skills and competencies.

 

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Previous Scrub experience preferred.
