Twice a year, business owners and community leaders come together to discuss the economic outlook in Union County. The Economic Outlook Luncheon takes place each year in the spring and in the fall.

The fall luncheon will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the El Dorado Conference Center.

Randy Zook, President and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon. Zook will discuss the recent legislative session and how it will affect the local chamber community and businesses.

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in his role as president and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, Zook has strengthened the brand of the state chamber and increased membership, led two successful statewide initiatives and refocused attention on the workforce development system in the state.

Previously, Zook was deputy director of administration and finance for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. For 34 years, he worked for the Atlantic Envelope Company in Atlanta, a $200-million manufacturer of custom printed envelopes and business products. He was president and CEO from 1989 to 2004.

Zook currently serves on the boards of the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) Schools in Helena-West-Helena, Economics Arkansas, and McGehee Farm & Real Estate Co.

“We’re looking forward to hearing Randy’s presentation,” said Bill Luther, president and CEO of the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce. “We are honored to be able to have him speak.”

An RSVP is required for this event, which can be made by calling the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce at 870-863-6113 or emailing jaren@goeldorado.com. The Chamber of Commerce is located at 111 W. Main Street in El Dorado.
