The SHARE Foundation is searching for a new executive director for HealthWorks.

Clemente Saenz, former vice president of health & wellness for the SHARE Foundation and executive director of HealthWorks, resigned in mid-February, said Amanda Cooley, public relations manager for the SHARE Foundation. Cooley declined to provide specific information as to the circumstances of Saenz’s departure, noting that “details of SHARE’s employment records are confidential” and that she is prohibited from releasing information without Saenz’s consent.

Cooley was able to say that Saenz left “to pursue his own personal business interests. He has started his own business, Resurgence Fitness and Wellness Consulting.”

“We sincerely wish him well and success in that effort,” Cooley said.

Though Cooley declined to answer questions concerning Saenz’s tenure with the SHARE Foundation and at HealthWorks, previous reporting shows that Saenz began at HealthWorks roughly five years ago, having previously served as the assistant manager of Hendrick Health Club in Abilene, Texas, as well as the general manager of Physiques Fitness Center in Magnolia.

With Saenz’s departure, the SHARE Foundation has already begun the search for a new executive director of HealthWorks. Cooley said they are conducting a nationwide search and final candidates will be screened by selected members of the HealthWorks Advisory Committee, along with a panel of HealthWorks management.

“The SHARE Foundation is looking for a leader to continue our innovative programming along with a commitment to our nonprofit mission,” Cooley said.

According to the job listing, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and four years experience in managing a fitness center. The listing states that applications will be accepted until March 31, with qualified candidates being reviewed by mid-April. A narrowed candidate pool will be interviewed by early May with a goal of having the selected candidate start no later than June 1.
