Union County had good turnout for first day of early voting.

At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the first day of early voting for the March 1 Primary and Nonpartisan General Judicial Election, 250 Union County voters had cast ballots in the clerk’s office at the Union County Courthouse.

“We’ve been steady,” said Alice Lowery, deputy clerk, who also noted that those numbers are high for the first day of early voting.

Early voting will end on Feb. 29 – the day before the “Super Tuesday” Primary Election set for March 1.

Registered voters can cast ballots from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the clerk’s office on the first floor of the courthouse, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays – Feb. 20 and 27.

On election day, polling sites throughout the county will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
